Frequently Asked Questions
If a room is too hot or too cold, Mitsubishi Electric Cooling & Heating products can handle it! Mitsubishi Electric split-zoning systems are specifically designed to improve the comfort level in an uncomfortably hot or cold room of an existing building. Since they don’t require duct-work, they’re the perfect heating and cooling systems for renovating older buildings that were constructed before air conditioning was available – even those with plaster walls and brick facades. The versatility and variety of applications for Mitsubishi Electric systems are virtually unlimited. They’re an excellent choice for almost any spot cooling or heating situation, including enclosed sun-rooms, upstairs bedrooms, classrooms, hospitals, nursing homes, restaurants, hotels, workout rooms, computer rooms, offices and churches.
They’re also equipped with an anti-allergen filter and prevent the cross-flow of air with contaminants. And because they can be controlled by zone, it’s easy to set the controls for the exact room temperature you want.
Depending on your requirements, the actual installation is likely to be only a day or two.
No. One of the great features of a Mitsubishi Ductless Cooling & Heating system is its ease of installation. There is little to no ductwork required so you don’t have to worry about disorder in your home, interrupting your life or costly remodeling expenses. The sleek indoor unit mounts discreetly within the space, a pair of refrigerant lines plus power and control wiring connecting it to the outdoor unit through a small three-inch opening in the wall.
Mitsubishi Ductless systems employ the same mechanical components as any basic air-conditioning/heating system whose interactions cause the process of evaporation to occur. Our systems employ a split-ductless design, which simply means the indoor unit is separated from the outdoor unit and is connected by a gas and a liquid refrigerant line. The outdoor unit is considered the hot-side during the air-conditioning/heating process. The cold-side unit is located indoors. In the heating process the compressor reverses this operation, and the heat energy is evaporated in the outdoor unit. Then the indoor unit collects this heat energy while a fan blows air over the indoor coil and distributes the warm air into the room.
Absolutely, multiple indoor units can run off of a single outdoor unit, and the number is determined by each of our customer’s individual needs. Mitsubishi Ductless systems provide the most advanced technology that allows you to enjoy more precise comfort in one or multiple rooms – while saving on energy bills and contributing to a greener planet.
Each room becomes a zone with a Mitsubishi Ductless Cooling & Heating system, meaning you have the ability to choose independently which rooms you are heating or cooling at any given moment. So you never waste energy heating or cooling a room that you are not using. With a traditional system you don’t have that option; many homes have only one or two thermostats (zones) controlling the whole home which means wasting precious energy for rooms that aren’t being used. With Mitsubishi Ductless Cooling & Heating system, each room becomes an oasis of comfort.
“This technology is absolutely wonderful, a super solution for our hot spot need. Mr. Slim not only comfortably cools this side of the house, but the cool comfort succeeds in reaching the existing thermostat for the main unit and rest of the house, virtually shutting it down for long periods of time. Over the past 12 months, this has resulted in substantial energy savings.”
“Over the past 12 months, the Mitsubishi systems have performed outstandingly. I have had no complaints from teachers, which is a tremendous plus. I would highly recommend this system to anyone. The Mitsubishi performance has exceeded my expectations.”
“Tickled to death,” is the way this homeowner explains the new system which they have enjoyed over two summers and two winters. “Except for a few days in the spring when we throw open the windows, we keep the Mr. Slim system running 24/7,” he said. “With glass on three sides, our back porch is now our most favorite room.”
“We presented a real challenge with our preservation demands, maintaining the integrity of the buildings, keeping equipment profiles low, reducing the cost of operations in the milder months, desiring individual zone controls and needing to keep costs down. All in all, Mitsubishi Electric HVAC rose to the occasion. We could not have accomplished this with a conventional system.”
“Besides the ease of installation, CITY MULTI and Mr. Slim systems offer other distinct benefits as well, including: the reliability and ultra-quietness of both indoor and outdoor units; the moisture-removing dry mode (better IAQ); the amazingly effective reverse heat pump cycle which warms the rooms on the few cold days of the year; and the huge energy savings realized within the first 12 months of operation.”
“The church trustees and I have been very impressed by the performance of Mitsubishi Electric HVAC products. During the coldest months of the year, the Mr. Slim system has consistently maintained the temperature selected.”
